She replied that it was the will of God. Recently, a friend of mine posted a blog about a Muslimah who had written a book about her experiences in Afghanistan and of wearing the burka or Purdah. I of course , indignant in regard to the plight of Women in general and Muslimahs in particular offered my castigations against the right wing Muslims in general and chauvinistic males in particular. Today after reading about Sharbat and looking further into why she saw the period of the Taliban rule as being better; I finally looked elsewhere for info about Afghanistan and the Taliban instead of relying on what I have been told by the western media and Dubba. Most of what I know or felt about he Taliban is a result of the aforementioned brainwashing and the clip I saw of a woman being shot in the head in a carnival like event at a soccer stadium. It seems I didn´t know diddly squat about Afghanistan´s history or the Taliban. Oh I knew it was about oil in the Caspian and that most of the problems in the area are related to the British and American colonial aspirations, but I hadn´t heard the Afghanistans side of the issue, except that of the wealthy and educated -many who have collaborated with the foreign occupiers, from those who have resisted the occupations.
