This historical fact is acknowledged generally. This verse from the Bible does more than simply reiterate a historical fact, however. Opinions are divided on the significance of Christ´s death on the cross. For some people it has no meaning whatever. They consider it foolish that a person dying on a cross can save anyone. But the Bible states that such people will be lost. The Lord Jesus died precisely for the lost, and God´s word leaves us in vow doubt that everybody is a sinner and thus lost. One needn´t sense that one is lost to actually be lost. The fact of the cross is a matter of faith. Christ died for each one of us. We need the Savior. Without Him we should all be lost. But God says that all who believe in Him will be saved. That is God´s offer of salvation for everyone who comes to Him with his failings and sins. This is the only way in which we can know the message of the cross as God´s power. Good works and involvement in social activity will not earn us heaven. The Lord Jesus Christ is the way to God. Any other way thought out by man will miss the mark. We must bring our life to Jesus Christ, admitting that we are lost. Whoever confess His life´s guilt to Him will be saved and actually. Experience the power of God. Every believer can testify "the Spirit (of God) bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God" (Romans 8: 16). Life To Life Ministries
