My Grandmother lived in Hedley (at the base of this mountain) back in the 1970´s and when we were visiting we´d sit out in the yard with the binoculars looking for longhorn sheep and mountain goats hanging around the buildings which were almost inaccessible at that time. The original wagon road went up over the tops of a couple mountains past these bldings and through Apex Ski resort and down into Penticton BC We tried to get to the buildings once, got all the way up top to find it all fenced as some company was doing exploratory work. Oh Well, hell of a drive though!!! The only problem today is the 530 stairs down from the road. Check out the web site here:- http://mascotmine.com/ |

That´s Incredably Steep...whoa, hate to step on a loose rock on the path there. Will be waiting to the close-up. Hve to look hard to see the begining of the shafts. |
