Opinions are divided on the significance of Christ´s death on the cross. For some people it has no meaning whatever. They consider it foolish that a person dying on a cross can save anyone. But the Bible states that such people will be lost. The Lord Jesus died precisely for the lost, and God´s word leaves us in vow doubt that everybody is a sinner and thus lost. One needn´t sense that one is lost to actually be lost. The fact of the cross is a matter of faith. Christ died for each one of us. We need the Savior. Without Him we should all be lost. This is the only way in which we can know the message of the cross as God´s power. Good works and involvement in social activity will not earn us heaven. The Lord Jesus Christ is the way to God.
