Hi Marilou. Yeah, I really owe you an update. I´ve been having physical therapy for my old knees & my treatments in the mornings & then working my business in the afternoons. Started back before Christmas & been so busy I´ve forgotten who I´ve told & who I haven´t. Just passed treatment #25 last Fri....20 more to go. So far no side effects that I can tell. The "graduates" say that toward the end you experience some fatigue. The doc says, "take naps, you deserve it." So I don´t expect any problems. My daughter has settled in to her deployment in Afghanistan. She´s in one of the numerous compounds in the Kabul area & seems about as safe as anyone. So far she´s been concentrating on doing things the "Army way." That´s it in a nutshell. How about you? Having a cold winter yet? Ours is crazy warm & I think we´ll pay for it next summer. Other than that, I am enjoying the weather. I can get out & do things I normally wouldn´t this time of year. Supposed to be 70 here on Wed!!! ???? Be Happy!! |

What Profit??? What profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?( Matthew 16:26) Let us consider for a moment what this means: really gaining the whole world, i.e. truly possessing everything on earth and enjoying the respect of every body. Yet, what use would it be, if it all happened at the expense of our soul? There are various things that we deem worthwhile and do all within our power to attain or maintain as the central point or content of our life. Among them are material goods, financial investments, land and property. Our position and reputation in society or our professional standing can be equally important to us. In any case, whatever prevents us from attending to the healthy state of our "inner man", a so necessary aspect of our life, is the price for which we throw away our precious soul. Normally we calculate very carefully; here, however, is an error that we can never put right. How many people have made the painful experience that all earthly value and success, once attained, do not fully satisfy. The more we achieve, the more we strive to obtain. What causes this inner unrest? What drives us on like this? When God created man, he received a soul destined for eternity. That is the reason for the continuance of Man’s life after death and also for his longing for lasting, eternal values. Those values that will truly satisfy our soul, both now and in our resurrected life, can be found only in fellowship with our Creator and through the Lord Jesus Christ. |
