...AT OFFICE PIC # 11....

VISIT TO A PROSTITUTE=^= The insistent pounding finally roused Dr. P. W. Philpott of Hamilton, Canada, from his sleep. It was 3A.M. “Will you go with me to the house of prostitution?” the stranger at the door asked. “A dying girl there has asked for you.” Philpott followed the stranger into a seamy part of town and in the flicker of an old lamp, saw the poor teenager. =^= She said, “I know you would come and pray for me, for I am going to die. The girls don’t believe I’m going to die, but I know I am.” =^= I wondered how I could d bring her to Christ, just then, she solve the problem by asking if there wasn’t a story in the Bible about a sheep that had strayed far from the fold and of the Shepherd who had gone after it. “Can you find the story?” she asked. =^= I read her the story, and then turned to the verse which tells of the Shepherd giving his life for the sheep. As I knelt to pray for the dying girl, the other girls knelt too, sobbing by their companion’s bed. What an audience! When I looked up, I shall never forget the expression of her face. “Oh!” she cried, “it is wonderful!” The Good Shepherd had found me and He’s holding me close to His heart!” she kept repeating it.=^= When I returned dawn, one of the girls came out to meet me. “We wish you had been here when Mary passed away. She was happy. She kept saying, “The Shepherd has found me, and He’s holding me close to His heart.”=^= Years later in another city, a woman came to me after a service and asked, “Don’t you, recognize me? I am that girl that told you of Mary’s passing that morning. But there was something else I wanted to tell you. That morning when the Good Shepherd brought Mary in one shoulder, I came in the other.” Copied from the book “FROM THIS VERSE” by Robert J. Morgan…
