About MyDailyFlog


What is MyDailyFlog?

MyDailyFlog.com is a website that lets you easily put your videos and photos on the web in a daily log format. If friends have their own MyDailyFlog pages, you can see everyone's latest videos and photos on one page and link back and forth to each other. And, you can comment in each other's guestbooks.

What isn't MyDailyFlog?

MyDailyFlog is not an online photo album for you to store all of your digital photos and get them printed out. So, if you've got 50 or 60 photos from your 3-year-old's birthday party that you want to share with the world, we recommend Fotki, Ofoto, or ShutterFly for that. MyDailyFlog is more the kind of place where you'd put up a different photo or video of yourself each day or each week so your friends could check in and comment in each other's guestbooks.

Why am I only allowed to post one video or photo per day?

We allow you to post only one video or photo per day so that your friends could see it and comment on it. If you could post more than one video or photo a day, there is a big chance that it would not be seen by your friends and end up with no guestbook posts.

How To Start Using MyDailyFlog?

 

1. Create a MyDailyFlog account
We've tried to make MyDailyFlog really easy to use, and as self-explanatory as possible. Just click the "Create your own free MyDailyFlog page" link that you'll see all over the place and fill out the short registration form. It should take less than a minute and you'll be on your way.

2. Post videos and photos
Once you've created your free DailyFlog, go to your page, and click on the "post new" link that you see in the navigation bar. Then click on the browse button to find the photo you'd like to upload from your computer's hard drive. Remember: photos must be JPGs, PNGs or GIFs, and they need to be 5,000 KB or less. Most digital cameras out there today create photo files that are less than 5,000 K, so you should be good to go. But, for you folks with super-duper gazillion mega-pixel cameras, any basic image-editing software will allow you to resize your photos to the proper size to upload. MyDailyFlog will ultimately convert your photo to a JPG, no larger than 520x520 pixels.

3. Notify your friends
At the next step you can notify your friends about your new photo. You can do so by using a simple tool we offer, quickly getting your contacts from Yahoo, Gmail, Hotmail, MSN or AOL accounts. If you don't have a Yahoo, Gmail, Hotmail, MSN or AOL account, you can enter emails of your friends manually.

4. Choose preferences of MyDailyFlog
Finally, you can choose your MyDailyFlog privacy settings. All the preferences can be modified as well as any other information entered during the registration.

Why am i not receiving the confirmation email?
Make sure your program or webmail is not blocking our emails. It is probable that your email has been configured in High Security mode. Therefore, every email sent from an address not belonging to your contact list will be automatically ignored, not even getting to the Junk Mail folder. To solve this problem, you must add the mydailyflog@mydailyflog.com address to your contact list.

Where can I change my email address?
To change your email address related to your account, you must go to the "Settings" page. Once you are there, you will be able to change your email. Remember that you will have to verify your new email address.

The system will not take my photo, how do i make it work?
If you have blocked cookies on your web browser, they must be enabled. Or your picture is probably taking too long to upload. The file might be too big. You might need to reduce the size of the file.

How can I delete a photo?
To take a photo out of the system you must go to the "Archive" page in the navigation menu, then find a photo that you want to delete and click on it. After that you’ll see an option to delete it.

Can I use MyDailyFlog for my artful nude self-portraits?
No. Scott wants his nephews to check out MyDailyFlog. Please go elsewhere. Sorry.

I found an inappropriate photo (porn, discriminating or violent content) What should I do?
MyDailyFlog users are not allowed to have this kind of photos on their pages. If you find a photo you consider inappropriate, you should report it using the "report photo" option, which can be found near the lower right corner of the photo.

Where can I change my username and the title of my MyDailyFlog page?
Unfortunately, it is not possible to change your User Name. However, your MyDailyFlog 's page title might at first be the same as your username, you can change it whenever you want. To do so, you have to go to your MyDailyFlog page, then click on “Edit my Profile” and over there you’ll be able to change the title of your MyDailyFlog page.

Can I get contact info of someone I saw on the site? Can you help me in any way to get in touch with someone?
No, we will not provide a user´s email address under any circumstance.
If someone wants to contact other people, he has to do it through their respective MyDailyFlog page.

How can I add friends to my DailyFlog?
Don't forget about your friends and favorites. Once you add them to your DailyFlog, you'll be the first to see their latest and greatest pictures right on your page. To add someone as your friend, simply go to that persons's DailyFlog page, then on the left upper side click on the "About [username]" link that will direct you to that person's profile page where you'll be able to add him or her as your friend. It's that easy, but make sure you're signed in or this link won't show up.
To remove a MyDailyFlog member from your Friends/Favorites list, log into your account, click on “MyDailyFlog” and then on the “Friends” or “Favorites” and click on the "Remove from F/F List" link.

How can I close MyDailyFlog page?
We'll be sorry to see you go, but if you would like to close your MyDailyFlog account, click on the "Settings" link in the nagivation bar. From there, go to the text that says "To permanently close your account". Follow the instructions on the following pages to close the account, but remember: closing an account is permanent.
Your account cannot and will not be reopened by you or by a MyDailyFlog admin after you have closed the account.

How can I block someone?
To block specific unwanted users from your guestbook, log into your account, go to your guestbook and click on the "block" link next to their username. To unblock the same member, go to "Settings". On the “Preferences” page, you'll find a list of all blocked accounts which you can manage as needed.

Where can I edit my guestbook settings?
When it comes to your guestbook, you choose who can comment. There are "MyDailyFlog members" and "Friends only" options. Go to your “Settings” page to adjust your preferences; the default setting is "MyDailyFlog members".
