Maybo the Baybo Girl
She is the calm one of the pack – so calm that she stays back while the other three make a traffic jam at the door, then waits to be invited. As the other three dogs chased the cat, and Gordie ate the grapes (instead of my toes), she posed for a shot. Yet once the traffic jam is clear, that brown bomber is often first the fence, kicking up dirt and stirring the others to let a visitor know – go to the FRONT door and ring the bell. Coming in the gate is not such a good idea. Sweet little Mabel will be biting at the bars on the gate.

When you think about it, she’s pretty smart. Kage is a bit smaller than her physically, but somehow has it in his head that the size of an elephant. Gus is big and knows it. Joe-Joe is HUGE and doesn’t care as long as he has fun and can carry something (ANYTHING!) around in his mouth. Open the door and those three are in a noisy race to see who can get in, or out, fastest. CRASH!!! Mabel will sit back, wait for that to be over and then consider if they’re finally done with that macho nonsense. She’ll look at me and ask, “Is it okay now, Daddy? Am I safe?” So … she waits to be invited. |

She looks deep in thought here...."hmmm....I wonder if I could have one of those grapes.....??". Beautiful girl. I have a soft spot for boxers. |

Oh yes, it´s funny to watch them go into sensory overload. I buy tennis balls by the bag too. When there´s 2 or more in the yard, Moca keeps running between them trying to decide which one to use...or else she drops them in a pile & picks one after another up trying to decide!!! The Irish Setter never had that problem. He´d just collect them all in a pile & lay on them!! He didn´t want to play with them, just have all the toys!! Poor Goldens! Setters just confuse the hell out of them! |
