Another Memory

Most of Dad’s life was as a framing carpenter. That’s hard on a body when it includes the Minnesota winters. I was glad to see him retire. By then, however, arthritis had set in. To him, that didn’t matter a whole lot. Mom (Edie) had a strong artistic flair. One of the ways he encouraged her to go back to painting was for him to develop his own hobby. He’d look in the basement, yard, by the lakes, even around construction sites. Then he would make things for Mom – and others. This little display greeted people on the front porch. The rougher barn has its own story.
