Platanias...
... was the name of the village where we stayed. The old part, situated up on a hill with a great view of the Mediterranean was very charming. Otherwise I felt too much at home there, in a negative sense. It felt like being at home in Sweden, because 95% of the people I met in the village were other Scandinavian tourists. The only Greeks there were the people who worked in the restaurants, hotels and shops... When I´m abroad I want to hear a different language spoken and see diferent people, not the same as I hear and see at home...

Yes Asteli, isn´t that frustrating? You take a vacation to get AWAY from home!! I´m sorry we didn´t get any pics of Italian Riviera. We just cruised through it & then headed inland toward home. We did camp the last night in a campground on the shore of a beautiful lake. So we´ver got a few shots of that and my topless shot coming up..ha,ha,ha...Have a great week. Be happy!! |

yes, I´m afraid so...sorry. This was the tail end of the trip and we had to make up for spending so much time in Monte Carlo. It might have been raining intermittantly, too. Can´t remember. I´ll make up for it on the next trip...took a ton of pics in Barcelona!! |

Yes, that is part of the experience I´m told. When I travel across Texas there are 5 different dialects in how we speak. The same language, different pronunciations and ways of saying things. Someday I would like to see Sweden, Alscase-Lorraine, Austria, Romania,(maybe Poland)and Russia. Then top it off with a trip to Austrailia and Hawaii. Someday. |

Isn´t that the truth of the matter...to go some where different and exotic...only to see and hear the same old same old ? So what was the whold point of saving money, packing, sitting around in the airport and enduring a very long flight living on peanuts/prezels and coffee? That is why I like to pick up see shells or an intresting rock while I am in a new place ..along with a few hundred photographs...so I don´t have to come home with a trinklet made in China. (no offence Violet) |
