Onboard The Ferry

As you can see it´s not very big, but at least it´s solid steel. There´s a drop down pole on each end which is all that separates you from the water. For a short water crossing it gets the job done, just smaller than most people´s idea of a ferry. From left to right: Israel, the organizer & leadere of this ride, his son Michael, Robert in red, & Gerry who was riding one of the scooters. Gerry´s scooter is a 650cc Suzuki Bergman & had no trouble keeping up with the "big boys". People riding behind Gerry said it was amazing to watch how far over he leaned that scoot while carving the corners like the rest of us. Scooters have come a long way & are no longer your grandfather´s Vespa!!!

HAPPY FIRST DAY OF SUMMER!! (Well here in the US at least.) In honor of today´s ocassion, I decided to post a funny I was saving for next Wynnsday:.........On the last day of school before the Christmas break, the children brought gifts for their teacher................... The supermarket manager´s daughter brought the teacher a basket of assorted fruit.................. The florist´s son brought the teacher a bouquet of flowers................ The candy-store owner´s daughter gave the teacher a pretty box of candy.................. Then the liquor-store owner´s son brought up a big, heavy box. The teacher lifted it up and noticed that it was leaking a little bit.............. She touched a drop of the liquid with her finger and tasted it. "Is it wine?" she guessed. "No," the boy replied. She tasted another drop and asked," Champagne ?"........................ "No," said the little boy . . . "It´s a puppy!"

i guess they should have looked in the box first huh.....even though scooters have come a long ,long way since the vespa i still dont think i would take one on any extensive tour. not that i doubt their ability or reliability its just asthetics i guess. smallest thing i ever rode on tour was an old honda CB 500 four. it was the first bike i bought brand new($2400.00) it did well but still lacked the power i wanted to haul what i wanted. i kept it for a few years then traded up to a 77 goldwing. since then ive had several bikes but have always enjoyed knowing that on long trips its about comfort and storage capacity. at least for me...looks like you had alot of fun on the trip.hope to see more pics
