LAVA FLOWS GOING INTO LAKE SUPERIOR
Yes we do have Lava flows here in the Midwest. This is how the great Lakes were formed over 300 millions years ago. This is an awesome sight to be there and see them for your self. Beautiful color stones of Quartz of many colors mixed in the flows.

Paul-- this is an especially nice photo...i am constantly amazed to hear(and see) how BIG the great lakes are.....hard to envision that inland body of water....great shot!!!! |

Thanks Phyllis. Yes they are very large. Not only are they large but they are the largest fresh water shed in the world. Lake Superior alone has over 2,000 miles of shore line. If by chance we should loose the Great Lakes. The whole world would be in trouble. That is an awesome thought |
